This place hits the spot! It aint nothin' fancy, but it is delicious. Open-air type place, you order at the counter and they'll bring your food out to you at any of the tables. I liked the gumbo, and the crawfish is a popular favorite. Boudin balls are a definite treat, and I wouldn't shy away from the stuffed crab, either.

The batter on the fried fish is great not soggy or greasy. Gumbo has good dark rue but they need to add fresh shrimp prior to dishing it up the old ones are too over cooked. Pistolettes are Great!

Hot damn! Everything we ordered was packed full of flavor. Great service. Very attentive staff running the floor. This was a beyond great stop for our first time heading through Louisiana. Just a handful of minutes away from I-10. Plenty of parking, plenty of seating. The crawfish étouffée was excellent. All of the "House Special" appetizers were good and rounded out our meal very well. I could easily grow to 600 pounds if I lived anywhere near this place. That's one of my highest compliments.

Decided to take a pee break here and get some food to go on the way back to Houston from New Orleans. Definitely saw a roach in the restroom...I had to pee so bad that I tried my best not to make eye contact. We got the shrimp and crawfish pistolette. Both were good. We also got the gumbo and crawfish étouffée to go. Unfortunately, the gumbo wasn't packaged properly and all the soup spilled out into the bag so we were just left with rice, chicken and sausage. Overall the food was good but a bit on the salty side.

Because of many good reviews; therefore, I must visit this place, I thought to myself. When I arrived, the place was almost deserted. Great, that means no waiting . I ordered the small plate and an iced tea. It cost $24.50. A bit much I say for 1 stuffed crab, popcorn shrimps, 1 filet of fried cat fish and a whole lot of fries. Typical fried food nothing special at all. Service was prompt and the order was completed relatively quick. Will I return? A big maybe.

I was doing a cross country trip and knew I must have some crawfish before I left LA. Found steamboat bills just off I-10 so it was perfect stop. We ordered 1lb of crawdish, crawfish étouffée and a boudin. Steamed crawfish were excellent, seasoned really well. The étouffée was so yummy, very creamy and lots of crawfish meat. I had never had a boudin but it was so good, would compare it to a croquette but in a ball shape. The dipping sauce they give with with it adds an extra little kick and creaminess. All in all, a good little find. Food was quick, cheap and really good! Check out @onebiteonesip on ig for picture.

Excellent food. Quick service. We tried the Captains Platter, fried mushrooms, boudin balls, gumbo and house salad. Captains Platter was more than enough for 4 guests. This location was less crowded than the i10 location.

We had a nice to go order of crawfish at the end of crawfish season. The packaged them well , in a thick bag-no leaking in the car. The crawfish were fresh & a good size. Seasoned perfect!

The wife and I came to Lake Charles on a sports intensive weekend. When asking the locals where the best Cajun style restaurants were we were told to try these guys. Let me tell you, this was a great choice. It's a hole in the wall, but the food was great and VERY affordable. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for that authentic Cajun atmosphere and food. The wait staff were excellent too.

Went back for two to go orders of crawfish etouffee. While it is the best I've ever eaten, it was 3/4 rice and 1/4 etouffee. Excessive for a $10 dollar price tag each. I make a mean etouffee and it doesn't cost $20 to to a whole pot full. Sadly disappointed.

The food was great! I've done the Texas / Florida trip a few times and have stopped by at other places in Louisiana and there is no other like it. Loved the chicken and sausage gumbo as well as the chicken fingers. On the flip side the prices are a high for the portions but if you don't mind paying for quality, this is worth the stop.

Amazing place, staff was super friendly as soon as we walked in. The boudin balls melted in my mouth with a crispy thin fry batter, the red beans and rice were well done, coleslaw solid and shrimp po boy, was crispy and delicious.

Sadly, we never got to eat the food that we ordered. Due to poor customer service, our order was incorrect and our time and patronage of their business was obviously of very little importance to the manager, Ms. Green. We were appalled by the lack of professionalism and simple respect for a customer. Hopefully, you will be treated like your business is actually wanted and appreciated.

Saw this location on Yelp, reviews looked good, had shrimp po boy & fries, they were great, at same time, i'd ordered boudin, when the sandwich arrived, i asked nicely about the boudin, was told coming shortly, never came, i asked a 2nd time, no luck, finally told waitress to cancel boudin as i was leaving, got a blank stare. No plans to return. may seem petty, i believe in getting what i pay for, or at least a reasonable reason why i didn't.

Amazing food, amazing service! We looked around got the crawfish Etouffe, some gator bites and a fried catfish filet and we were NOT disappointed! We enjoyed everything about this place. Definitely will be back for more!

One of the best Oyster poboys I have ever had. Somewhat expensive at $14 for a sandwich. Informal atmosphere but clean with an attentive staff.

So, we have been to Steamboat Bills many times and they have always been great! However, we came to LC, La for the Valentine's weekend and stopped by for crawfish on Valentine's eve. And they were out, yes OUT on Valentine's day.... so we settled for a shrimp poboy and after taking forever to get our order, it was terrible! I'm wondering..... did they change owner's or management or something? What the heck happened? We were very disappointed........get it back together Steamboat Bills :/

IH-10 location. Best seafood platter I've ever had. Étouffée was great! Chicken strips great. Bean and rice great. All the fried seafood was fresh and awesome! Wonderful service. We stop here every year while passing through from San Antonio, Texas to Dothan, Al. Deserts are fabulous too. A MUST GO!

Ordered the crawfish etouffee and boudin balls. It was ok. The etouffee gravy was to thick for my preference more like a thick gravy and not enough crawfish (had to fish for it). Prefer the more traditional etouffee with a lighter sauce. Really disappointed.

Thinking of Steamboats conjures up so many great memories of home, family, and most of all great food. When you go to steamboats you MUST HAVE: The Crawfish The Pistolettes Stuffed Crabs Everything else is good too so you really cant loose, its an extremely laid back atmosphere where you can go with friends, roll up your sleeves and dig into a heaping pile of messy, lip smacking, clears your sinuses, cajun food. From the moment the mountain of steaming hot crawfish (please don't call them crawdaddys or cr-Ayfish...its insulting and it makes you sound simple) are placed in front of you to the time you pull out your lil tiny wet wipe and attempt to clean the evidence of your ravenous feast from your hands (and face, and arms...yes it is not a game) you are sucked into a truly different dinning experience. You don't care how messy it gets, because chances are the person next to you is just as messy or really wont care. You don't obsess over the "tiny" piece of meat you get for all that work....NO. You savor that tiny bite of victory, and pray for the day when your fingers will become as nimble as your cajun counterparts (or that the will be generous enough to pass you a few they've already peeled while you struggle with your second one).

Don't eat at this place it is run down and ugly! The Gumbo was way to salty and I could not finish it. The Steamboat bills next to I-10 is 10 times better then this place! So please if you are in town go to the one off of I-10.
